Annotation
The exhibition "Ride the Snake / He's Old and His Skin is Cold" presents the works of 8 artists. Instead of a gallery environment, it is set in the environment of a wild garden and the family home of the sculptor Imrich Vanek. After his death in 2015, the house in Bratislava's Koliba was gradually transformed into a museum and a residential ceramics center.
Upcoming accompanying program: a concert, a lecture by architectural historian and curator Šárka Svobodová about the history of the Vanek house and architects Vít Halada and Benjamín Bradňanský from the N/A studio about the reconstruction process and the challenges associated with it. We will gradually publish the dates of the activities. Follow our social networks.
Initiator and organizer of the project:
- Banská St a nica Contemporary; Zuzana Bodnárová a Svätopluk Mikyta; www.banskastanica.sk
The exhibition was supported from public funds by the Slovak arts council
- Special thanks to the organizers and curator of the exhibition go to the heirs of Imrich Vanek's estate for their long-term support of the idea of transforming the Vanek house into a new artistic place accessible to the public in Bratislava.
- The location does not have parking capacities. We recommend using urban public transport - the trolleybus in the direction of Koliba. Get off at the Čremchová stop and walk about 50m to the entrance to the Vanek house (address Hlavná 25). Thank you for your understanding.
