REVIZE: Mezi tradicí a invencí
The AFAD Metal and Jewellery Studio and Preparatory Jewellery Course take part in the international exhibition REVIZE: Mezi tradicí a invencí in Jablonec nad Nisou. The opening takes place on 22 October at 3 pm.
- Venue: Muzeum skla a bižuterie v Jablonci nad Nisou
- Curator: PhDr. Kateřina Nora Nováková, Ph.D.
The Metal and Jewellery Studio and the Preparatory Jewellery Course at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava are taking part in the international exhibition REVIZE: Mezi tradicí a invencí, which concludes the JABLONEC 2026 International Triennial.
The project brings historical costume jewellery from the museum collections into dialogue with contemporary art jewellery. Students from five European art schools worked with selected Art Nouveau and Art Deco objects, reinterpreting them through contemporary materials, technologies and individual artistic approaches.
The resulting works are not replicas of historical objects. They are personal responses to their aesthetic, technical and cultural qualities. The exhibition shows how museum collections can serve as a living source of inspiration for contemporary work and how traditional craft can change through dialogue with current issues and experimental approaches.
The exhibition premiered in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, in June 2026 and has been presented at the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou since October 2026.

Participation of AFAD's Metal and Jewellery Studio
The AFAD Metal and Jewellery Studio and Preparatory Jewellery Course present student works created in dialogue with historical collections of Czech costume jewellery. The project offers an opportunity to critically reflect on the relationship between tradition and the present and to explore jewellery's potential as a medium for personal and social themes across generations.
Participation in the project also confirms the value of international collaboration between art schools and cultural institutions in finding new ways to interpret cultural heritage through contemporary design and artistic practice.
