Annotation
Michaela Prablesková comes as a prophetess, to whom the deity of equality appeared in her Instagram feed and entrusted her with an important task: to destroy all evil in the world and establish a new world order, the basis of which will be equality. With this exhibition, Michaela proclaims the ideology of the Latest Law, the long-awaited final part of the trilogy. Through inspiration, a statue of the Deity of Equality was created under her hands, which took on the form of everything that has so far been considered weak, sick and undesirable. The Deity has a rare ability – to reveal to visitors whether they also carry toxic patterns of patriarchy within themselves.
The project was possible thanks to the cooperation with GG+ media (Alex Pernic, Lenka Vallová, Michaela Prablesková), Žltunké, Michal Chromiak, Martin Hrvol, Lucia Čarnecká, Daniel Janec, Pavol Mikuliček, Peter Machat, Filip Bielek, Tomáš Prištiak, Tomáš Votrel, Kozmas Moravčík and other great people who directly or indirectly contributed to its implementation.
The project was created with the financial support of the Tatra banka Foundation.
About the artist
Michaela Prablesková is an intermedia artist who has set out on a mission to destroy patriarchy, capitalism and all other unjust systems and evil things. She plans to conquer the world (with love, swords and other necessary means) and establish a new order, the basis of which will be equality. She uses various DIY sculptural approaches in her work. She is fascinated by materials that can change their form and state, such as metal or silicone. She often works with humour or on the verge of awkwardness or kitsch.
Michaela is part of the GG+ media collective and is also a final-year master’s student at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, in the Atelier of Intermedia. She completed study stays at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She has presented her works in Norway, Portugal, Italy and Austria. In Slovakia, she has exhibited, for example, at Tranzit, the P. M. Bohúň Liptov Gallery, Art Rooms Moravany, and at the OFF, Sirotinec and Tehláreň festivals.
