Neither village nor city. Until recently, Bratislava Trnávka had the reputation of a wild periphery and an uncontrolled island that fiercely resisted all kinds of external influences. However, the relentless urbanization and gentrification of the city is beginning to dynamically change the original historical character marked by poverty. It is getting denser, housing, multifunctional, sports, production and sales complexes are increasing. Some houses are waiting for sale, reconstruction, change of owner or division of land. Lenka L. Lukačovičová therefore systematically maps these visual changes and records the distinctive identity of this unique part of the city. Since she lives here herself, she does not see Trnávka as an "exotic" periphery, but as an integral part of her living space, where she constantly finds new corners, yards, cars, paths, people, details and situations. He discovers places with unfulfilled potential, newly sprouting botany covering deposits of original layers, or absurdities in public space that interfere with otherwise "harmonious" surroundings. He has been working on this informal artistic research since 2020 and, in addition to photographic exhibitions and comprehensive zines, it was also presented directly in the public space of Trnávka.
