Annotation

Lenka L. Lukačovičová presents part of an extensive photographic series exploring the Trnávka district of Bratislava, showcasing its developing potential alongside its peculiar situations and neglected areas straddling the boundaries of urban and quasi-rural environments. Together with Klaudia Korbelič, she also exhibits collaborative works in the form of fictional invasive plants – Triffids, hanging objects made of synthetic and textile materials. Klaudia Korbelič further contributes her own installations and clusters of objects that merge ready-made components with handcrafted sculptures, textiles, and 3D-printed elements. Her unconventional works explore themes of interpersonal relationships and family.

Korbelič's installations transition seamlessly into the third section of the exhibition, featuring painter Ľudmila H. Machová. Her long-term artistic practice focuses on examining the interplay between natural and artificial environments, landscapes, and their unnatural states caused by human interventions. These themes are expressed in standalone paintings, painterly objects, and installations that address synanthropic and invasive plant species.

Lonely Planet (Trnávka) by Lenka L. Lukačovičová, Lonely Spaces by Ľudmila H. Machová, and Lonely Meanings by Klaudia Korbelič offer three perspectives on contemporary realities: the dynamics of meanings, landscapes, environments, and the relationship between humans and their surroundings. The works explore themes of diversity, purity, congestion, poetry, and challenges both locally and globally.
