Klára Kusá: Visibility is a trap

Visibility is a trap is a project that tries to create a never-ending paradox. We live in a system that is intertwined with the medium of social network that offers us boundless opportunities of self-presentation. On the other hand, the network controls our thinking and shopping habits.

Visibility is a trap is a project that tries to create a never-ending paradox. We live in a system that is intertwined with the medium of social network that offers us boundless opportunities of self-presentation. On the other hand, the network controls our thinking and shopping habits. Mark Fisher states we’ve achieved the point when we are unable to imagine a world without capitalism. That applies for the anti-system as well. However, the labels work on the same principle they fight against. The spectator becomes an actor creating a performance filled with situational irony, in front of the invisible audience consisting of buyers and sellers. Visibility is both a weapon and a rescue. So, let’s buy the poster, shall we?
