The artist consciously exposes himself to the surveillance system, maintains direct eye contact, and engages in a nonverbal dialogue with the security cameras. With a clear conscience, yet also with fear, he surrenders himself to being recorded. He places his trust in the unknown, explores, and attempts to switch the roles of observer and observed. He asks questions to which he receives no answers: What else can I do but trust? Isn’t my only hope to trust even those who fear it, and thus move closer to mutual trust? Could my trust be abused?

Kiosk 19

There are so many beautiful places in the world, and we close ourselves off into black halls, darken the windows and call it theatre. Moreover, we have built a lot of different rules and restrictions around it. Let's get rid of all that and together we would rather not play theatre.

At Kiosk, we have explored various places over the past years - from mountain tops, gas stations, swimming pools, pubs, to unpaved highways. This year we decided to explore the potential of various places even more. We will look for a scene without action or, conversely, play without a scene. Maybe we will just rest somewhere and let the place itself play. Together we will ask: When is it okay to occupy a place? In what way? When does a place play itself? Can theatre be when we are not playing, we are just in the right place at the right time?

...and maybe in the end we will all just stop on a hill above Žilina to enjoy the sunrise together with a cigarette in our mouths and an unfinished bottle of wine. Is this a theater?

More information and a revamped website will follow soon! For now, you can browse on site.
