Annotation

The exhibition Chapter I. Archa is part of the extensive Archa exhibition, through which we will thematically tune in to the seventh year of the multi-genre festival Sirotinec. Chapter I. The Ark, looks at the theme of death and decay from various angles. It will be the first realized event from a series of thematically forecasting events of the upcoming year of the multi-genre festival of young art at the Sirotinec.

Like the spontaneous communities of democracy on pirate ships, we too must get together and look for alternatives. Today, when authoritarian power seeks to establish its version of order through strict dictates and the inconvenient ones, whom schools have trained to think freely and critically, want to push into isolation using panoptic practices. That is why ARCHA will always be a refuge for young artistic creation that unapologetically defends its freedom and supports collaboration.

ARCHA will anchor wherever power reaches out with a stealthy hand to artistic freedom and offer refuge to all who hold its values close. So give us your Slovaks and non-Slovaks, your rejected masses, yearning for free expression!

The first exhibition of the ARCHA project will include: Students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava & Academy of Fine Arts in Prague & UMPRUM as part of the Dvojrozmer project, the Shut Up! collective, the Sirotinec collective, authors Vladimír Boroň and Ján Šutvay, artist and curator Zuzana Sabová and with a joint installation Dionýz Troskó & Michal Šumichrast & ted01 & Palo Čejka.
