About the exhibition
Artists Eva Masaryková and Karin Patúcová Lunterová come to Pustovňa to continue their shared artistic and material dialogue. Responding to its contemplative space, once directly connected with processing the harvest, they reflect on life in an environment that demands a daily encounter with natural processes, the necessity of physical movement and work, but also the need to pause, regenerate and accept what we can no longer influence. Through their work, they seem to imagine a day in the Hont region: a grounded life that can only be lived by returning to close contact with fundamental processes and simple truths.
Through ceramic forms and working with clay, Karin Patúcová Lunterová focuses on physicality and movement. Her impressions and forms speak of a body that manipulates matter, cuts through the air, travels, puts energy into its surroundings and constantly redefines its boundaries in space. At the same time, however, it slows down, almost to a complete standstill, where it regains its strength.
Within this physical need to slow down, Eva Masaryková explores the relationship between people and the harvest, and the element of trust. She works on ceramic objects using natural techniques, fills them with natural materials and places them within natural structures. The uncertainty embedded in her works mirrors uncertainty about environmental processes and many other areas of life. Eva Masaryková accepts this uncertainty as part of the decision to trust.
You can experience this ceramic situation, a trace of the artists’ dialogue, at Pustovňa from 4 October 2026. The opening at 3 pm will also include a performance characteristic of the artists’ practice.
