Come and visit us at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.

Are you thinking about studying fine arts, design, architecture, restoration, or art theory? Would you like to learn more about the admission process, how an art academy works, and the various study opportunities? Do you need advice on preparing your portfolio or developing your artistic practice? We invite you to our Open Day, which will take place across all three of our buildings.

Come and see the teaching in action, talk with our students, or consult your work with our faculty members. In addition to guided tours of the school with stops in individual studios, you can also attend separate presentations dedicated to specific study programs, where you will learn much more about their curriculum, assignments, and student projects.

Excerpts from student performance works:

  • 9:45
Michaela Prablesková: Give Me Your Phone And I Will Tell You Who You Are
The performance takes place in a fortune-telling booth where, instead of cards or a crystal ball, the visitor’s unlocked phone becomes the tool of divination. From its data emerges a darkly humorous prediction of the future, confronting the viewer with an absurd choice: buy a protective object or risk the disclosure of a compromising photograph.
  • 10:00
    Julia Pabst: Just Dance
This performance draws on the principles of dance video games and AI-generated choreography to pop music. What begins as playful entertainment gradually turns into a demanding algorithmic dictate — the movements become increasingly complex, nonsensical, and difficult to reproduce. The work explores the limits of the human body within a system that knows neither fatigue nor error.
  • 10:15
Tomáš Brichta: Questions and Answers (working title)
The performance examines the relationship between human and algorithm through the repeated, risky act of tossing a stone above the performer’s face, creating tension between the desire to maintain control and the constant threat of the stone falling onto the performer’s face.
