AFAD (VŠVU) at Palma Live
On May 1, the Palma site on Račianska Street in Bratislava will reopen, where you can meet us, see art, or purchase works by our students.
Račianska, Bratislava, Slovakia, 84107
Duration: 1 May 2026, 10:00 – 17:00
Palma Live is a day when the Palma complex comes alive with food, music, art, and social encounters.
SCULPTURE, OBJECT, INSTALLATION
Throughout the day, you will be able to view works by students from the Department of Sculpture, Object, Installation. Their works engage with space, architecture, and the relationship between humans and their environment. They offer insight into the creative processes of artists exploring material, form, and concept.
Exhibiting: Emily Gurová, Júlia Káčerová, Roberta Andrášková, Šimon Chyla
Texts accompanying the artworks were prepared by AFAD students Petra Wesserle and Tomáš Marián Mráz from the Department of Theory and History of Art (@teoria_vsvu), under the supervision of Daniel Grúň.
URBAN FURNITURE
Department of Design | Industrial Design Studio | Heads: Eva Mikulášová, Boris Belan
At the Palma Live event, held in the former Palma factory complex, the Industrial Design Studio of AFAD presents four prototypes of student-designed seating. They respond to the genius loci of the site and work with sustainable, locally available materials and production methods. The prototypes were created at a 1:1 scale and serve as real-life tests of the designs, verifying not only their aesthetic quality but also their functionality and durability in a specific environment.
During the event, you will be able to explore them and vote for the ones you would like to see, for example, in a park or public square.
Urban furniture created by: Viki Fehérová, Michal Lavrinc, Adam Zelman, Matúš Gajdošík
