The first on-site event at the Goethe-Institut in June deals with personal constitution with a view to the near and distant future. In joint interviews and openly staged situations and workshops, invited artists and activists address the state of mind in the context of growing precarization, permanent availability and the optimizing pressure of today's working and living conditions. While we live in a society where mental problems and illnesses have been privatized and where responsibility or "guilt" is attributed to the individual, the program examines the collective and political aspects of fear, illness and trauma.
At the same time, we think about the consequences and traumas of the war in the immediate vicinity, as well as about navigation in media full of horror and false news or about the postponement of destiny as presumed mechanisms of coping. Our whole social and private life is permeated with fear, especially when we think about the future - how can we deal with it?
This event is part of the program REQUESTS FOR THE FUTURE, curated by Inga Seidler (DE) and András Cséfalvay (SK).
