The concept of light constructions from the point of view of finding a new form for architects and designers

Lightweight constructions are one of the popular architectural forms of today's construction and design. They appeal especially with their non-traditional solution and exceptional shape.

The concept of lightweight constructions is extremely interesting for the needs of architects or designers from the point of view of form finding. The main advantages of lightweight constructions include their lightness, airiness and enormous flexibility. Compared to traditional conventional constructions, they make it easier to cover large spans with a minimum number of support elements. Another significant advantage is their design variability, which provides almost unlimited possibilities for finding original and elegant forms.

The main goals of our project can be summarized in the following points:

• to get acquainted with the issues of design and implementation of lightweight structures and to establish international cooperation in this area,
• to create a specialized teaching and consulting center for students and the professional public with a focus on activities related to the proper design and implementation of lightweight structures,
• present the achieved results of the workplace at local and international conferences and workshops, as well as through online outputs and organize events with the participation of top experts in the field,
• to compile a book publication on the issue of light constructions for students and professionals.
