New Open call for residency in Paris
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava announces another open call for applications for an artistic or research residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. The call is intended for doctoral students, graduates of the AFAD of various specializations - from fine and applied arts, architecture, design or restoration, to theoretical disciplines.
Thanks to the cooperation of the AFAD with partners in Paris, next resident can travel to a three-month artistic or research stay at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. The residency will take place from the beginning of April until the end of June 2022. The resident will receive a financial contribution to cover the necessary living costs, while the costs of renting the studio, accompanying fees and Cité services will also be fully covered. After the residency, the resident will present his / her work and the results of his / her stay at the exhibition in the Gallery Medium.
In addition to the filled application and other documents, the condition of selection is completed studies or ongoing doctoral studies at the AFAD. Age and art medium are not decisive - artists, designers, architects and conservationists, as well as theorists of all ages, can apply for the open call.
In case of interest, the applicant is obliged to send the following documents in English language to the address cite@vsvu.sk by February 13, 2022:
- Application (downloadable on the web)
- Residence project and cover letter (max. 1 page)
- Structured CV
- Portfolio
- Artist statement (optional)
- Letter of recommendation with emphasis on the quality of the candidate. The letter must be written by a person from the external environment of the AFAD. (max. 1 page)
The selection procedure will take place on the basis of submitted applications and will be two-round. The first round will take place at the AFAD within a commission composed of internal and external members. The second round will take place at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
