In her presentation, Tereza Jindrová will present the genealogy of her curatorial experience. Using examples of concrete implementations and projects, she will try to point out some more general (and often contradictory) aspects associated with the work of a curator of contemporary art, such as independence, precariousness or cooperation. Together with the students, a discussion about sustainability in curatorial practice will follow.
Bio
Mgr. Tereza Jindrová studied art history at the Faculty of Arts, UK, and theory of design and new media at the UMPRUM in Prague. She works as a curator and dramaturge of programs for the public at the Jindřich Chalupecký Company and as a curator of the MeetFactory gallery. In the past, she worked as an external lecturer for the public in the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art of the National Gallery in Prague and as an art editor of the magazine A2. Since 2015, she has been a part of the dramaturgical and curatorial team of the Prague independent gallery Entrance, which she leads together with Veronika Čechová since 2020. In 2013, she won the Věra Jirousová Award for novice critics under the age of 26.
