Patrik Kovačovský studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and multimedia / film on a study internship in California. In 1996 he won the Artist of the Year award (now the Oskár Čepan Award). He combines installations, sculpture, painting, or computer graphics, as well as video, film, and photography. He has experience from foreign exhibitions such as X. Documenta Kassel (1997), EXPO 2000 Hannover, Biennial of Multimedia and Film in Paris (2000) or The 15th Tallinn Print Triennial, KUMU Art Museum of Estonia in Tallinn (2011). He lives in Bratislava and at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design he works as the head of the Department of Sculpture, Object, Installation. During his one-month residency (June), Kovačovský works on smaller textile objects and, for the first time, in the printing workshop of Banská Stanica, also on experimental prints.
Béla Remák is a native of Moldava nad Bodvou. He first studied at the Technical University in Košice, then at the turn of the millennium free printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and the Academy of Arts in Prague. For several long years, he "disappeared" from the scene and devoted himself to large-format airbrush painting abroad. During the three-month residency (May-June-July), he creates linocuts inspired by nature, which he cuts several times, presses repeatedly and enters them again with color and graphite pencil. Remák's graphics in muted, refined tones are reminiscent in many ways of his photographs, which are often preparatory sketches.
Remák lives in Valtice, Czech Republic, where he and his wife run the Korek Gallery. In the wine region, they combine art with gastronomic culture.
