Preparatory Course Typo
The Preparatory Course: Typo is one of four preparatory courses offered by the Department of Visual Communication, focusing on typography and publication design. First-year students take this one-semester studio course.
It consists of several assignments varying in duration and intensity—ranging from hour-long exercises to semester-long projects. The purpose is to gain experience in creating publications of various scopes and complexities, with an emphasis on finding one's own working methods and procedures. A crucial component is mastering the use of basic digital and non-digital tools and technologies. The course culminates in the creation of publication mock-ups, which test the students' independence in the creative process and their ability to work with text content with understanding.
