Information about public transportation in Bratislava
Bratislava lines operate from early morning, 4:30 or 5:00, until about 23:00. There are also night lines marked „N“, which start running at 23:30 from the Main Transport Nod located next to the Bratislava Main Railway Station (with stops around the city, but less dense than the daytime lines – please check schedules of the individual N-marked lines)
Where do I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased: in ticket machines near bus stops, in the Mobile app IDS BK, directly on the bus/trolley bus/tram in ticket validators by using your bank card, in ticket offices. You can also buy an SMS ticket.
Do I have to buy a ticket for every ride?
You can either buy a single ticket or you can buy a prepaid ticket (Travelcard) for 30 or 90 days.
How do I buy a prepaid ticket (Električenka - Travelcard)?
Travelcards can be purchased in ticket offices or in the IDS BK app.
Do I get a reduced fare as a student?
University students who are 25 years old or younger can receive a reduced fare 50% of the basic fare. If you are 26 or older, you are not eligible to any reduced fare.
I am 25 or younger. How do I get the reduced fare?
In order to receive a reduced fare, you will need to register at a ticket office or in the IDS BK app.

You will need the following documents:
- Written confirmation of school attendance
- International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
- Identity card
- Your photograph (3.5 x 3 cm)
