AFAD at Pecha Kucha Night vol. 57

The next edition of Bratislava’s Pecha Kucha Night is connected to the current exhibition Sediments of the World at the Bratislava City Gallery, curated by AFAD lecturer Naďa Kančevová. The event will also feature our colleagues Jana Hojstričová and Kristýna Španihelová, as well as this year’s graduates of the Department of Photography and New Media, Ester Mládenková and Monika Juríková.

The 57th edition of Pecha Kucha Night Bratislava, organized in collaboration with the Bratislava City Gallery in response to the intergenerational group exhibition Sediments of the World, and in partnership with Bratislava Design Week, will focus on the specifics of artistic approaches related to the phenomenon of collecting, accumulation, and hoarding as a creative impulse.
It will present ways in which artists, through the need to collect, preserve, and categorize various found objects, create new perspectives on both past and contemporary contexts. Collections will also be viewed as triggers for associative chains of stories and new narratives, revealing the extent to which the personality of the authors is reflected in the objects they collect.
