Kacper Kępiński: Tectonic Landscapes: The Artificial Nature

a3 KAT cordially invites you to the next lecture in the Brown Lecture Series

Lecture room no. 103
AFAD, Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18, Bratislava

What we call “nature” is often anything but natural.
The talk explores tectonic landscapes — environments reshaped by both subtle and drastic human interventions. It examines how engineering, extraction, and architecture transform not only the ground beneath us but also the entire landscape above — its forms, ecologies, and ways of being. Architecture here becomes both a tool and a witness of these transformations, revealing how the built environment participates in shaping new artificial natures — hybrid terrains where design, technology, and ecology are deeply intertwined.
