Podcast: AFAD and 17 November (Linda Várošová and Erik Kliment)
We are publishing another episode of our podcast series, which we prepared in collaboration with moderator Zuzana Golianová to commemorate the historical events—as well as the contemporary significance—of 17 November in Slovakia.
This time, we look to the present, to the youngest generation that refuses to remain silent and is actively organizing. Zuzana Golianová spoke with Linda Várošová, AFAD student and member of ŠOK! – Students for Open Culture, and Erik Kliment, graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts, member of Open Culture! and the civic association I Want to Stay.
In this episode, you will learn, for example, how young people born several years after the events of 1989 perceive 17 November today; what motivates them to engage publicly, organize, and why they prefer to protest for something rather than against something; as well as what forms of protest might appeal to the younger generation.
You can listen to the podcast at https://tinyurl.com/6rjrmhmd or on streaming platforms.

The recording took place in mid-October 2025, before the events connected with the so-called “Chalk Revolution.”
