Success of the Department of Architecture

The Department of Architecture has received a grant from the Tatra banka Foundation to develop its digital and technological infrastructure

The Department of Architecture at AFAD successfully obtained support from the Tatra banka Foundation’s grant program Education for Institutions. Thanks to the funding, the department has expanded its technological facilities with new equipment and software, including a 3D printer, 3D scanner, laser cutter, and the 3D Rhinoceros software with an EduLAB license.

The new digital-technological laboratory is already actively used in teaching the core subject Studio, in specialized courses focused on digital design and fabrication, as well as in the artistic research of doctoral students. The new technologies have become an integral part of students’ creative work, which has been reflected in the presentations of studio and final projects.

The expansion of technological equipment has enhanced the quality of teaching and research at the department and contributed to its further development in the field of artistic and architectural education.

The project was led by doctoral student Mgr. arch. Lukáš Mráz, with the support of Ing. arch. Paulína Závacká, Mgr. art. Júlia Kolláthová, ArtD., and Prof. Ing. akad. arch. Ján Studený, PhD.

We express our sincere gratitude to the Tatra banka Foundation for the support provided.
