The exhibition Medium: Textile presents works by Eva Cisárová-Mináriková in dialogue with the creations of 21 former students produced under her guidance in the Studio of Free Textile Creation at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava over nearly twenty years. The works are dominated by themes of collective memory as well as individual stories. Traditional techniques are linked to contemporary topics of relationships, community, pain, and protection, while also extending into the fields of restoration and interpretation of historical models, as well as into object-making, jewellery, installation, and performance.

Eva Cisárová-Mináriková (1945, Cífer) is one of the pioneers of free textile art in Slovakia. She is devoted to researching the history of the Izabella Association and is a recipient of several awards. The exhibition was initiated by her students, many of whom are now renowned artists (Ľuba Sajkalová, Jana Zaujecová, Anna Blonska, Beáta Gerbocová, Sylvia Birkušová, among others). It offers a perspective on the phenomenon of textile art—an area whose full entry into the field of fine art was significantly shaped by Eva Cisárová-Mináriková and which, thanks to its specific qualities, continues to gain an increasingly strong presence on the contemporary visual art scene.
