Teuta Jonuzi (*1995, Ilava; based in Bratislava & Vienna) is an artist, curator, and performer whose practice moves between performance, writing, installation, drawing, and sculpture. Interested in instability within materials, language, and imagery, she works with the idea of floating signification, using fragments of memory and narrative to evoke past events and reassemble them into nonlinear structures. Through shifting translations between the personal and the public, the dreamy and the real, her work reflects on questions of home, migration, and memory, where objects, spaces, and gestures become carriers of unstable meaning and past and present continuously rearrange themselves. Her projects open spaces of radical intimacy, where connection emerges from shared vulnerability and the fragile attempt to make sense of one another.
As both an artist and curator, Jonuzi develops exhibitions as collaborative environments shaped through dialogue and spatial relationships. Her exhibitions approach the exhibition space as a temporary architecture of memory, where fragments, personal histories, and material traces gather without resolving into a single narrative.
She studied at Tokyo University of the Arts JP, Aalto University FI, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna AT.
Selected exhibitions include Feelings for a Spider, 4649 Gallery, Tokyo (2019); A shop is a shop is a shop, Kunsthalle Wien (2022); Portal, Holešovická šachta, Prague (2023); …And They Lived…, Kunsthalle Bratislava (2023); and the International Drawing Biennale, Faculty of Arts Gallery, Pristina (2024).
Selected curatorial projects include Giddy Flames (co-curated with Julian Siffert), Collegium Artisticum, Sarajevo (2024), Finally Landing, Medium Gallery, Bratislava (2026) and most recently In Free Fall, Again, TIC Gallery Brno (March 2026).
