1. Who can apply for transfer or change of study

Transfer from another school is allowed to a student, who has been admitted to a study program of the given level in the same study program or in the related study program at another university, if the student sends a written request to the AFAD Rector and he/she meets conditions stated in the article 32 of Study Regulations.

An AFAD student is allowed to change a study program only within the same field of study. The change of the study program is allowed by the AFAD rector if conditions stated in the article 31 of Study Regulations are met.


2. When applications for transfer or change of study program can be submitted

  • by May 31 of a regular year

3. Important dates and deadlines

  • by May 31, 2024 – application submission
  • on a date to be yet determined, in the second half of June 2024 – files are inserted in the storage by the applicant
  • on June 24, 2024 – interview between an applicant for transfer or change of the study program of undergraduate or graduate level and the admissions committee.

4. How applications for transfer or change of program are submitted

Transfer from another school:

  • AFAD may allow a student, who has been admitted to a study program of the given level in the same or related field of study at another university, to enrol in study at AFAD if he/she sends a written request to the AFAD Rector and meets all the following conditions:
  • application submission deadline is May 31 of a regular year,
  • the application must contain name, surname, permanent address (or correspondence address), email, telephone contact;
  • full name of the school, field of study, program and year from which the applicant is applying to transfer naming the study program, or studio of the transfer.
  • students from another school should attach:
    a) decision on admission to another university (legally verified copy),
    b) recognition of university study results, in case a student initially admitted to the university, has already studied at the university (original copy issued by the study office of the given university)
    c) motivation letter, CV, student´s portfolio with short annotations to individual projects or works from the previous studies (all submitted in one joint PDF format max. up to 10MB marked as name_surname_study program) – must be inserted on a date to be yet determined, in the second half of June 2024. in compliance with the requirements which will be sent to the student´s email address stated in the application on a date to be yet determined, in the second half of June 2024.

Decision on transfer is delivered by post only to the addressee.

Change of study program:

An AFAD student may change a study program he/she has been admitted to only within the same or related study program. The change of a study program may be allowed by the AFAD Rector if the following conditions are met:

  • application for change of the study program (in AIS in Files) must be submitted no later than on May 31 of a regular year,
  • recommendation from the head of the studio or department offering the study program which the student has been admitted to, must be provided (must be filled in the form),
  • approval of the head of the studio or department offering the study program which the student applying for change of the program would like to study, must be provided (must be filled in the form)
  • resolution of the admissions committee on which semester the student will be listed in after the change of the program (must be filled in the form),
  • motivation letter, CV, student´s portfolio with short annotations to individual projects or works from the previous studies (all submitted in one joint PDF format max. up to 10MB marked as name_surname_study program) – must be inserted on a date to be yet determined, in the second half of June 2024, in compliance with the requirements which will be sent to the student´s email address stated in the application on a date to be yet determined, in the second half of June 2024.

Decision on change of study is delivered only to the addressee by post or in person.


5. Date and course of interview regarding transfer or change of the study program.

The interview for bachelor´s and for master´s programs programs will be held on June 24, 2024, it will be held either in person or online for applicants from abroad who will request it. The admissions committee will evaluate the interview as well as electronically submitted portfolios with motivation letters.
