Selection procedure for the position of university teacher Conservation and Restoration

Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava pursuant to § 77 par. 1 of Act no. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended, announces competitions for filling the vacancies of university teachers the position of  professor

  • Department of Conservation and Restoration

    • University teacher in the position of professor - head of the studio providing teaching of a compulsory subject with a focus on textile restoration in the study program Conservation and Restoration in both the bachelor's and master's degrees of study in the field of study Art with inclusion in the Department of Restoration

 

Application deadline:  November 6, 2023

Commencement of employment: December 2023

 

Qualification prerequisites:

  • Education:

    • completion of higher education II. A degree with an artistic-pedagogical title awarded or a scientific-pedagogical title "professor" before 01.09.2020 or,
    • completion of higher education III. A degree with an artistic-pedagogical title or a scientific-pedagogical title "professor" or,
    • completion of higher education III. A degree with an artistic-pedagogical title or a scientific-pedagogical title "associate professor", without an artistic-pedagogical or scientific-pedagogical title "professor".The applicant proves that he/she meets the criteria resulting from the required level of criteria for obtaining the title of professor at the University in the relevant field of the Inaugural procedure, which is assigned to the field of study to which the position is linked, which in terms of the University means that he/she must meet the Qualification criteria for the inaugural procedure, which form the appendix no. 1, or,
    • completion of higher education II. A degree with an artistic-pedagogical title or a scientific-pedagogical title "associate professor" awarded before 09/01/2020; without an artistic-pedagogical or scientific-pedagogical "professor" title. The applicant proves that he meets the criteria resulting from the required level of criteria for obtaining the title of professor at the University in the relevant department of the Inaugural procedure, which is assigned to the field of study to which the position is linked, which in terms of the University means that he must meet the Quantification criteria for inaugurations of the selected of the field of study, which form appendix no. 1.
  • obtaining the artistic-pedagogical title "professor" or obtaining the artistic-pedagogical title "associate professor" with simultaneous proof of fulfillment of the criteria resulting from the required level of criteria for obtaining the title of professor at the University in the relevant field of the inaugural procedure, which is assigned to the field of study to which the function is binding, which in terms of the University means that it must meet the Quantification criteria for the habilitation of the selected field of study, which form appendix no. 1.
  • art-pedagogical experience lasting at least 6 years, of which at least 3 years from the date of awarding the title "associate professor" in the field in which the position of professor is filled or in a related field;
  • integrity,
  • participation in the selection process,
  • successful completion of the selection procedure.

 

Required tender documentation:

  • application to SP (must contain personal data – first and last name, address, contact – e-mail, phone, exact name of the job),
  • curriculum vitae,
  • an officially certified copy of the document on the obtained higher education II. or III. degree depending on the footnotes,
  • officially certified certificate of state final exam,
  • an officially certified copy of the decree by which the applicant was awarded the artistic-pedagogical title "associate professor" or the artistic-pedagogical title "professor",
  • extract from the criminal record not older than 3 months,
  • artistic, or scientific portfolio in print or in electronic form,
  • list of artistic and scientific publishing activities,
  • an overview of artistic-pedagogical activities (length of teaching experience, supervision of doctoral students),
  • an overview of grant, project and organizational activities of the applicant (research projects, conferences, workshops, etc.)
  • concept of department/studio management, or other professional subject/subjects of the field of study in which the applicant is to provide teaching at the University,
  • other documents in accordance with the Rules of the tender procedure and the published notice of the tender procedure. (see appendix no. 1)

 

General conditions of admission:

  • meeting the required admission conditions,
  • complete submission of the required documentation for the tender,
  • participation in the tender.

The course of the selection procedure:

  • presentation of artistic or scientific and pedagogical activities,
  • presentation of the proposed teaching concept,
  • discussion with committee members and defense of the presented teaching concept.

Salary conditions:

  • According to the applicable legal regulations of Act no. 553/2003 on remuneration of employees in the performance of work in the public interest, i.e. j. according to a special salary scale for university teachers.

 

Further details on the announced tender, acceptance conditions and required documentation for the tender:

  1. The filling of the mentioned job and function is carried out in connection with the approved number and structure of jobs at AFAD.
  2. The selection process verifies the applicant's skills and expertise, which are necessary or appropriate in view of the nature of the duties that the employee has to perform in the job position or function for which the selection process is being held.
  3. The selection procedure for filling the position of professor and associate professor is also a selection procedure for filling the position of university teacher.
  4. All required documentation for the selection procedure, including the application for the selection procedure, must be submitted in the Slovak language.
