Selection procedure - assistant professor with 2nd or 3rd degree

The Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, with its registered office at Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18, Bratislava, in accordance with § 77 (1) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Higher Education Act"), announces a selection procedure to fill the position of university teacher in the functional position of Assistant Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava as follows:


University Teacher in the Position of Assistant Professor

 

  • A 50% teaching position focused on professional chemical-technological subjects, covering all specializations of the studios within the Department of Restoration, in the study program Restoration Creation under the field of study Art, assigned to the Department of Restoration.

 

  • Qualification Requirements:

    • Second or third-level university degree in a relevant field,
    • At least one year of teaching experience,
    • Submission and defense of a written teaching concept.

  • Officially certified copy of the university degree certificate,
  • Criminal record extract not older than 3 months,
  • Written teaching concept,
  • Brief portfolio of artistic or scientific activity,
  • Overview of artistic, professional, and publishing activities (preferably documented via CREUČ and CREPČ extracts),
  • Overview of artistic-scientific, professional, and publishing activities (preferably documented via CREUČ and CREPČ extracts),
  • Sworn statement on other employment relationships with universities in Slovakia and abroad, including weekly working hours (for the purposes of §74(5) of the Higher Education Act),
  • Overview of teaching activity (length of teaching experience, supervision of final theses),
  • Overview of grants, projects, and organizational activities (research projects, conferences, workshops, etc.),
  • Consent to personal data processing.

All documents must be submitted in both printed and electronic form (on a USB stick).

Internal employees do not need to provide certified copies of diplomas; a copy is sufficient.


General Admission Conditions:

  • Meeting the required admission criteria,
  • Complete submission of required documentation,
  • Personal participation in the selection procedure.

Selection Process:

  • Presentation of artistic, scientific, and pedagogical work (approx. 15 min.),
  • Presentation of proposed teaching concept (approx. 15 min.),
  • Discussion with the selection committee and defense of the teaching concept.

Salary Conditions:

  • According to valid legal regulations in accordance with Act No. 553/2003 and Slovak Government Regulation No. 296/2022, Annex No. 6 – Special salary scale for university teachers and research staff.


Job Description:

  • In accordance with §75(3) of Act No. 131/2002 on Higher Education Institutions and on amendments to certain laws.

  1. This vacancy is being filled based on the approved number and structure of positions at the AFAD.
  2. The selection process is used to verify the candidate’s abilities and professional knowledge required or appropriate for the responsibilities of the position.
  3. All required documents must be submitted in Slovak. Documents certifying education, academic, artistic, and scientific degrees obtained abroad must be officially certified and translated into Slovak, and officially recognized under current laws. Documents in Czech do not require translation.

*The structured CVs of both successful and unsuccessful candidates will be published on the AFAD website for 90 days within 5 working days of the selection process, in accordance with §77(7) of Act No. 131/2002 on Higher Education Institutions.
