The Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, located at Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18, Bratislava, in accordance with § 77(1) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Higher Education Act"), announces a selection procedure for filling the positions of higher education teachers in the functional position of Assistant Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, as follows:
Department of Architecture
University teacher in the position of Assistant Professor to the Head of the Studio (Virtual Studio) and for the teaching of professional subjects in the study program Architecture in the field of Art, assigned to the Department of Architecture.

Qualification Requirements
Doctoral degree (3rd level of higher education) in the relevant field of study
At least 3 years of teaching experience (including PhD studies)
Overview of artistic, scientific, and pedagogical activities
Defense of a written concept of teaching
Required Documents for the Selection Process:
Application – a written request to participate in the selection process including consent to the processing of personal data in accordance with Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the protection of personal data and on amendments to certain laws as amended. Officially certified copy of the doctoral diploma
Criminal record certificate not older than 3 months

Brief portfolio of artistic or scientific work
Overview of artistic, professional, and publishing activity (if possible, supported by CREUČ and CREPČ extracts)
Overview of artistic-scientific and professional publishing activity (if possible, supported by CREUČ and CREPČ extracts)
Affidavit on other employment relationships with universities located or operating in the Slovak Republic or abroad, concluded for performing the work of a university teacher or researcher, including information about weekly working hours (for the purpose of verifying facts under §74 paragraph 5 of the Higher Education Act)
Overview of artistic-pedagogical activity (length of teaching practice, supervision of final theses)
Overview of the applicant's grant, project, and organizational activity (research projects, conferences, workshops, etc.)
All documents must be submitted in both printed and electronic form (on a USB key).
In the case of internal employees, it is not necessary to attach officially certified copies of diplomas – a regular copy is sufficient.

Course of the Selection Procedure:
Presentation of artistic, scientific, and pedagogical work (approx. 15 minutes)
Presentation of the proposed concept of teaching (approx. 15 minutes)
Discussion with the committee members and defense of the submitted teaching concept
Salary Conditions:
In accordance with valid legislation under Act No. 553/2003 Coll. and Government Regulation No. 296/2022 Coll., Annex No. 6: Special Salary Tariff Scale for University Teachers and Research and Development Employees

The advertised position and function are filled based on the approved number and structure of positions at AFAD.
The selection process verifies the candidate’s abilities and professional knowledge necessary or appropriate in light of the nature of the duties to be performed in the position or function being filled.
The required documentation for the selection process, including the application, must be submitted in Slovak. Documents proving education and academic, artistic, or scientific qualifications obtained in a country other than Slovakia must be officially authenticated and translated into Slovak. Official translation is not required for documents issued in Czech.
