Studio Space
Studio Space at the Department of Visual Communication of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava is a unique educational and research workplace in Central and Eastern Europe for creating and researching visual communication in architecture, public space, exposition and wider spatial relations not only of the physical world as conventionally understood space.
At the bachelor's degree level, students become acquainted with the methods and scope of visual communication in space and verify their experience on smaller simulated or real assignments. Teaching is supported by thematic workshops of our external collaborators from Slovakia and abroad.
At the master's degree level, students formulate their own topics related to space and work on individual tasks in space, supported by research often resulting in text output. In addition, they work as a team on assignments that are linked to the real environment of a museum, gallery or other public space.
At the doctoral level, students focus on researching a specific complex problem in space. The result is a publication expanding knowledge in the field of visual communication in space and its physical interpretation.
As part of the KEGA research project, we are working with our external collaborators to build an international SPACE / SPATIAL design program. In parallel, we publish publications, organize seminars, discussions and support research projects of master's and doctoral students at Studio Space.
