Studio of audiovisual overlaps
processes + photography + audiovisual overlaps + individual and public space
Art and communication play a key role in finding solutions to sensitive social problems and social change. Part of the concept of the studio is the area of engaged and critical art in public space, in which students' activities have the potential to respond to the state of reality in a local and global context. In their outputs, they have the potential to reflect society, influence it, provoke discussions and start new processes in it. Within the studio, we can think about the concept of the artist as an initiator of change, who connects the artistic and engaged level with the goal of motivation for civic activity.
Overlaps of photography and video (documentary, film) work into interdisciplinary areas (history, sociology, psychology, social anthropology, ecology,...) can initiate a discussion on important social and societal topics. The aim of the cooperation is to support the investigation of social phenomena at the border of the artistic and documentary genres, to connect students with the public in the implementation of gallery projects and in the online space.
Bilateral non-hierarchical cooperation, based on dialogue, can create interdisciplinary connections focused on topics of social justice, human rights, environmental issues and other topics in a local and global context. Future outputs of cooperation can be in the form of photo document, audiovisual document, installation, time-lapse documentary archiving, participatory activities, workshops (on the creation of a joint work), community initiatives, discussion forums and others.
