Studio of Painting

The Studio of Painting has the ambition to generate a cut of exemplary diversity in specific environment of creating the current image. We see the constitution of the image itself (not just paintings) in the Studio as the situation with the defining against triviality of entitlement.

Painting is not just a repetition, representation of visible, but also the perpetuation of the absent, visible invisibility. Painting is not intended just for eyes, but also for mind. Rather philosophizing, conceptual medium which forces us to question the essence of all the images, and speaks on the state of the presentation itself, which is constantly testing its own boundaries. It is one of the possible views to which a studio programme offers ideological scaffolding, always asking in the back of mind for the sense of painting as creating of any illusions and at the same time to keep ironic distance from the medium itself. The Studio is thus a sort of laboratory with a comfortable base for different approaches, allowing to perceive and diagnose differences, which can more or less by pure visual means put off clear orientation of the viewer.  So they may provide a space for a fundamental function of painting - subliminally effect on its integrity. The common fundament of the study is the interest in testing the mimetic function of the painting medium, from initial relation to the transcript of visible reality through thematic clarifying of key motivation of this activity. For example, from recording the human form in the perspective of its own paradoxes to setting certain terms, which allow to withdraw from the strategy of representation.
