The Preparatory Course in Design at AFAD is an independent studio. The circulatory system at the academy i.e. two courses in the winter semester and one in the summer semester, enables certain outcome to be produced within the given timeframe. Time allocation in the courses determines the volume of the assignment and the final performance of the student. My unspoken personal rule is to introduce a new topic to each course. The procedure is as follows: after the initial research and search for one’s own solution, we come to a selection and more detailed elaboration performed in drawing and also in initial models. It's an exciting stage because here we can define details, material, production process,  feasibility, etc. The final stage is the production of models and 2D outputs in the A2 format. The course is completed with a defence. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the steps and approaches of the designer from the assignment to the specific design solution.
