About Bratislava

Bratislava is one of the youngest capitals in Europe. It is the capital and the largest city in Slovakia, with almost 550 thousand inhabitants living in the area of 367.5 km².

Few people know that during the time it was called Pressburg or Pozsony it was one of the most important cities in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Bratislava’s location on the both banks of the River Danube and at the crossroads of ancient trading routes at the heart of Europe predestined it to become a meeting point of various cultures.

Nowadays Bratislava is experiencing a new accelerated growth and it is regarded as one of the most dynamically developing and prospective regions in Europe. With its several universities, it attracts students and young people who add to this blooming city a lively atmosphere.
